North Rhins Wind Farm is located on the Rhins peninsula, between Stranraer and Portpatrick, and has been operating since January 2010.
The wind farm consists of 11 turbines with a total installed capacity of 22MW. The turbines generate enough electricty to power the equivalent of 14,000 average households.
We have set up a fund set up to benefit communities living close to the site. Over the lifetime of the wind farm this will provide over £650,000 for local community projects. You can find out more about the fund and other community activities here.
We also contributed £236,280 towards the community purchase of the Portpatrick Harbour.
We hope you find this website a useful source of information. If you have any questions or comments about the wind farm or the community fund, please phone us 0800 707 6859.
