Why Wind? » Climate Change
It is widely recognized that climate change is real and caused by primarily by the increased levels of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels. In transportation, manufacturing and electricity generation we consume vast quantities of fossil fuels that release CO2 and contribute to global warming. The delicate balance of nature is being upset by this warming effect.
Wind turbines generate clean electricity using only the power of the wind. It is the most commercially viable renewable technology and is hence the cheapest way to reduce our carbon emissions for this generation. Scotland is blessed with excellent wind resource and it is well placed to lead the renewables revolution.
